TREVI ALOHILANI PENDRO, jewelry
2016/17 Artist in Residence

Trevi Alohilani Pendro was born in Los Angeles and grew up on the small island of Alameda, California. She is currently an Artist in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center. Trevi always knew she would be an artist, beginning with incessant drawings as an infant. In elementary school, she was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright – building sculptures with found bricks in the front yard – and knew she always had to make with her hands. Her journey as a craftsperson began at The Crucible in West Oakland, California, a non-profit fire arts school. She took her first jewelry class at age 12 and became a youth intern at age 15. Her time at The Crucible made her realize jewelry was exactly what she needed to be doing, her passion. She continued on to get her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Jewelry/Metal Arts at California College of the Arts with a minor in Writing and Literature.
