Class Description
Cast a special cement mixture in a cardboard box and carve it while it is still soft with spoons and knives or simple hand tools. Easy, fast, and everyone loves it! Make a sculpture, fountain, birdbath, planter, light fixture or something else.

On the first day, learn the possibilities of the materials and process, design your piece, and engineer your container. The second day, pour and carve. The third day, you refine and detail, work with color and texture, or carve another piece. You can produce pieces in a wide range of textures and colors including very smooth, refined surfaces that might find their home indoors.

If flying to the class and you are concerned about weight, you can design your cement piece(s), learn about the materials and process, and make a lightweight mold of your clay or cast stone original. No experience is necessary for this class. Experienced sculptors learn the possibilities of an inexpensive, widely available material that needs no further processing and is ready to install. All levels are welcome. Students who know the process may start the second day.
