Silk painters and watercolorists will be inspired to depart from tradition and develop new directions. The DyeColour process involves sizing the silk so that liquid dyes can be applied without the use of a resist line. The transparent watercolor techniques demonstrated will include wet into wet, lost and found edges, and ways to create luminosity through color transitions. The processes covered include how to make the sizing and dye-cakes, steam fixation and the dye set solutions. Students will also learn how to mount their silk artwork for display. No prerequisite
