CLASS DESCRIPTION
In this class Tommy will cover hollow form sculpting and blowing glass techniques. Some blowing and hollow forming techniques covered in this two-day intensive class will be coil potting, pulling points and how to properly connect pieces together. This class will also cover fuming and adding color to hollow forms.

Come learn some basic techniques with minimum tools for blowing glass and sculpting hollow forms. Tools will be provided and glass can be purchased from the instructor. This course for the intermediate glass artist is designed to be a one-on-one class so enrollment is limited.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Glass blower and lamp-worker TOMMY GARRISON was born and raised on the Mendocino Coast. Being drawn to challenging self expressive artistic outlets at an early age, he naturally got involved in drumming, surfing and fine woodworking. In 2001 a fellow surfer and glass artist introduced Tommy to the world of glass through the form of lamp-working and he has never looked back. Since 2001 Tommy has finished a two-year apprenticeship at Buzzz Glass as a production prep worker and an artistic embellisher/finisher.

Aside from working as a glass blowing and lamp-working instructor he has also owned and operated several local glass art manufacturing and retail businesses. Over the years Tommy has studied and practiced many glass blowing and lamp-working techniques. Some of these techniques include sculpting solid and hollow forms, bead, pendant, and marble making as well as drinking vessels and pipe making. Tommy currently works out of his own home studio creating functional glass art, pendants and sculpted glass sea creatures.
