Come learn some of the basic flame-working glass sculpting techniques in this two-day intensive workshop with glass artist Evan Hobart. Learn how to make bugs, crabs, fish and other creatures. We will also look at making pendants, marbles and some of the tricks to encasement. This course is designed to be a one-on-one class so enrollment is limited.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
EVAN HOBART was introduced to glass as a young child in 1993, when he participated in a stained glass class after school art program in the San Geronimo Valley in West Marin, California. Hobart received his Bachelor of Arts from Humboldt State University in 2004 and completed his graduate degree at San Jose State University in 2011 where he studied glass blowing. He started flame-working glass in 2012.
He is currently the Instructor of Ceramics at Mendocino Community College in Fort Bragg, CA. From 2011-2014 Hobart has been an Artist in Residence at Medalta in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; College of Marin; and the Mendocino Art Center in Mendocino, CA. He is now the Ceramics Program/Studio Manager at the Mendocino Art Center. Hobart’s work is exhibited in the USA and Canada, and is represented in many private collections throughout the United States.

Current MAC Members: $198
Non-members: $220 plus a $45 non-member registration fee
There is a registration fee of $45 for each class for non-members. Current Mendocino Art Center members do not pay a registration fee and may take 10% off each class registration. The discount is reflected in the prices above. Not a member yet? You may sign up below.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made in writing, either by mail or email. If you notify us at least 21 days prior to the first class meeting, you will receive a refund of tuition less a $45 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made after that date for any reason due to our contractual obligations and material acquisitions. If the Art Center is compelled to cancel a class you will receive a full tuition refund. Memberships are non-refundable as they are considered a donation to the Art Center.
