In this three-day workshop we will explore the use of gel mediums as a source of creating texture and dimension in our watercolor paintings. We will be using 300lb watercolor paper and crescent board as our base surface, while incorporating the techniques of pouring, spraying, & glazing to create surface interest. New students will create sample boards that they can take with them for later reference. Returning students should bring their sample boards with them. We will explore using the gel mediums to create textured surfaces that translate into walls and brickwork, to rocks and to bark.Students have the freedom to approach the work from a realistic or abstract perspective.
