The workshop comprises of two practical studio exercises and three seminars.

Exercise 1: Intuitive design on silk.

Exercise 2: Small editions on silk.

Seminar 1: Basic design for silk painters.

Seminar 2: Technique for silk painters.

Seminar 3: David Higgins artist.

The workshop studio exercise and seminar program is designed to give participants an active window into how David Higgins works on silk in both commercial and fine art arenas. How a practical knowledge of basic design principles and elements are used in tandem with technique to produce silk art works. The hands on studio exercises and seminars underpin each other and give students the opportunity to add to their existing silk painting technique, skill and design knowledge. It also encourages students how to make positive changes to their art practice, to make risk taking part of the process and to invite an outcome that is not overly planned but expected. That being a balance of creative energy, technical proficiency and the laws of nature to have free passage during the process of making.
