Using fine silver metal clay and/or copper clay, students will learn how to create earrings, pendants, and beads of all shapes and sizes including hollow rock shaped beads. We will set faceted fire-in-place stones and, if time and interest allow, instruction in combining copper and silver, and panel bracelet building. Suitable for the beginning or intermediate student, this engaging, three-day workshop will be packed with information and fun. Students new to the medium can expect to gain some fundamental skills, while more experienced users can expect to learn or refine new techniques. Mary will provide access to a large collection of tools for use in class.
Printed materials include instructions in addition to resources for students to continue their study and practice beyond the class. This workshop is limited to eight students, which provides a hands-on learning experience in a small-classroom setting. All work will be completed in this three-day workshop, ready to proudly wear home.
The Susan E. Wood Jewelry Studio is available for use for a fee the days following your workshop should you like to continue practicing new skills or finish projects started in class. For more details or to schedule extra workdays, please contact Nancy Gardner, Jewelry/Metal Arts Coordinator.
