Caspar Gardens has a long and colorful history. According to fact aided by rumor, what was originally a ranch has been at various times a Zen monastery, a home for Charles Manson, a hippie commune, an alternative healing center (complete with hot tubs and massage), and a sub-campus of College of the Redwoods. Now the Caspar Gardens houses a preschool, an artist's studio, two masseuses, an acupuncturist, and several families.
Numerous gardens, rustic buildings, towering cypress trees, a seasonal pond, a Japanese bridge and lovely vistas combine to create a rare experience of beauty and serenity. Wandering paths take you by heather, bamboo, azaleas, rhododendrons, roses, camellias, fuchsias, fruit and ornamental trees, a wide variety of perennials, and even a vegetable garden. You are sure to enjoy a visit to Caspar Gardens.
