Noyo 4 is the core of the Printmaking Studio Group at the Noyo Printworks, an artist-led community studio. Sharing a well-equipped studio and chocolate, Kathy Carl, Gail Coulson, Mary T. Anderson and Debbie Beck Lennox laugh, inspire and support each others' creativity. The City of Fort Bragg generously provided the space to enable Flockworks, a community non-profit, to transform the boy's locker room of the old swimming complex attached to the City Hall, into a bright working studio ready to foster creative learning and practice in printmaking, letterpress and book arts. Noyo Printworks is always looking for new, experienced printmakers. The studio is open for visitors and hosts a monthly First Friday reception.

Mary T. Anderson MARY T. ANDERSON, a Northern California native, holds an MFA from the State University of New York with graduate work at Parsons School of Design and The New School of Social Research, NY. She has been a visiting Artist in Ivory Coast, West Africa and an exhibitor and lecturer at the US/China Joint Conference on Women's Issues in Beijing, China. Mary has over 30 years of experience teaching metal and glass, in both New York and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Kathy Carl

For over 40 years, KATHY CARL has pursued her fine art passion through many artistic avenues. Printmaking continues to be her medium of choice, especially as a member of the team incubating Noyo Printworks. Her volunteer efforts running studio groups at the space have been a fortunate opportunity to practice and share various printmaking media (mostly non-toxic). The Solarplate process became central to her new direction in content while she branched out into more abstract interpretations of nature.

Kathy will be teaching SOLARPLATE: NEW ADVENTURES IN PRINTMAKING, May 4-7, at the Mendocino Art Center.

more information

Gail Coulson

GAIL COULSON is a super mysterious artist. Some say she was raised by banana slugs. Some say she wasn't. Some say it is not mysterious to say you are super mysterious. Will we ever know? One thing is certain: she is punk AF.

Debbie Beck Lennox

DEBRA BECK LENNOX experiments with many techniques and has been "bit" by the printmaking bug. Her vision of the natural world shows the beauty and fragility of life on Mendocino's North Coast. Abalone diving showed her the world underwater that is magical and illusive. She captures the awe for the fascinating creatures that inhabit this world as well as her home under the redwoods while exploring wood block, linocut and etching.

Debra paints in acrylic watercolor and oils and is a licensed architect. She is on the Board of Directors of the Mendocino Art Center and is a member of the Mendocino Eco Artists, Miasa-Mendocino Sister Cities Association, Mendocino Eco Artists and Artists' Co-op of Mendocino. Her work can be seen at the ACM and dblart.com
