This year, Art Explorers’ annual Fall Show, The Tell-Tale Art, will be held at the Mendocino Art Center. At the show we will proudly be showing pieces of a darker, more haunting nature than years past. Cat lovers will be in for a treat as well as Art Explorers will be featuring a cat calendar designed by one of our artists.

Art Explorers, Inc., is a creative arts program on the Mendocino Coast, whose mission is to provide a nurturing and artistically stimulating environment where artists with developmental disabilities and brain injuries can find freedom of personal expression and individual growth through the visual arts, and enjoy social interactions with other artists and the wider art community.

Art Explorers believes that art has the power to transform lives, and opens a window to the deepest expressions and yearnings of the human spirit. Their philosophy is rooted in total respect for the individual and the core belief that all people have a unique artistic voice. They seek to create a place free from judgment and competition, where artists can explore their interests and passions. Teachers are always available to any student for guidance, encouragement, resources and inspiration.
