CLASS DESCRIPTION
Artists! Take your work onto the computer and print it digitally. Then add handwork to the finished prints. Programs such as Photoshop and other apps will be taught. Items will be printed on various substrates and then handwork added to the digital images will make them uniquely yours. Scanning and printing basics, digital drawing and typography lesson for inclusion of text-based art if desired. Bring your laptop or tablet and stylus, paints and pencils and let’s combine traditional and 21st century techniques for outstanding results.

 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

After three years as Artist-in-Residence and Visiting Artist at the Mendocino Art Center, MARY-ELLEN CAMPBELL has made the move from New York to Caspar, CA. She was a Full Professor of Art at New Jersey City University, NJ, for 34 years where she taught Graphic Design. Her education includes a BA in Art Education, St. John’s University, NY, an MA from Michigan State University, and an MFA from Pratt Institute, NY.

As a multidisciplinary artist who does graphics, painting, sculpture, printmaking, book arts, and mixed media work, she has had 16 national/international solo exhibitions and over 80 group and invitational shows. In 2004-05 she was awarded the Fulbright Scholar Grant to teach in Thailand. Her books are in many special collections across the country. Mary-Ellen has won 12 artist residencies since 2007 in Finland, New Zealand, Australia, Turkey, Costa Rica, Colorado, North Carolina, California and Minnesota.

Current MAC Members: $310
Non-members: $345 plus a $45 non-member registration fee

There is a registration fee of $45 for each class for non-members. Current Mendocino Art Center members do not pay a registration fee and may take 10% off each class registration. The discount is reflected in the prices above. Not a member yet? You may sign up below.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made in writing, either by mail or email. If you notify us at least 21 days prior to the first class meeting, you will receive a refund of tuition less a $45 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made after that date for any reason due to our contractual obligations and material acquisitions. If the Art Center is compelled to cancel a class you will receive a full tuition refund. Memberships are non-refundable as they are considered a donation to the Art Center.
