In this class students will participate in a soda firing at the Mendocino Art Center in our cross-draft soda kiln. Students will be exposed to various glazing techniques and learn about the effects soda has on wares when it is introduced to the kiln at high temperatures. This course will include loading, firing, unloading and cleaning of the kiln and wares. Glazing and loading will take place Thursday night and the kiln will be fired on Friday, with cooling Saturday and unloading on Sunday.
