About the Artist
I was always an artist. From earliest childhood I had a fascination with paint, clay, fabric, anything that might be used to create. I became serious about painting in particular at the age of 11 when I started going out weekly with a plein air painting group in Medford, Oregon.
I graduated from Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA, in 2003, with a double major in Fine Art and English: Writing. In 2004, I received a Post Graduate Degree in Fine Art from Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland. Since then I have been heavily involved in the coastal art communities of Mendocino, CA and Newport, OR. I have been exhibiting publically since 1994 and am currently represented in several locations in both states.
Though I only recently became a full time resident of the Mendocino coast, I have spent much of my leisure time throughout my life in the area. In many ways the beaches, forests, boats and buildings seem more like home to me than any of the multiple places I have actually lived while growing up. I currently live in Mendocino and create art – paintings, sculptures, clothing, poetry, etc – in my home studio or on site in this constantly inspiring piece of the world.
