This workshop is devoted to teaching the tricks and tips to make most tools yourself. Students will make 10 to 15 handmade tools every jeweler should have on their workbench. From burnishers to chasing tools, hammers and custom bench pins, this advanced workshop teaches students to overcome obstacles in the studio, problem solve and maintain/repair hand tools and light equipment.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
BRANDON HOLSCHUH is a full time professional studio jeweler, artist, instructor, and is the author of The Jeweler's Studio Handbook. He attended Parsons School of Design and the Cleveland Institute of Art. Brandon's Jewelry has won numerous awards and merits, and is frequently featured in magazines, books, and museum exhibitions. He exhibits in prestigious fine art, craft and trade shows across the country.
Brandon's work pursues an amorphous organic aesthetic and features his signature textures and finishes. Each piece is created entirely by hand in 18k, 24k, Platinum, Palladium and Sterling. All of the materials used in the studio are ethically sourced and include conflict-free diamonds and the finest quality gemstones.

TUITION & FEES
Current MAC Members: $310
Non-members: $345 plus a $45 non-member registration fee
There is a registration fee of $45 for each class for non-members. Current Mendocino Art Center members do not pay a registration fee and may take 10% off each class registration. The discount is reflected in the prices above. Not a member yet? You may sign up below.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations must be made in writing, either by mail or email. If you notify us at least 21 days prior to the first class meeting, you will receive a refund of tuition less a $45 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made after that date for any reason due to our contractual obligations and material acquisitions. If the Art Center is compelled to cancel a class you will receive a full tuition refund. Memberships are non-refundable as they are considered a donation to the Art Center.
