Come join us on this two-day magical mystery dyeing tour while learning multiple shibori traditional resist dye techniques as well as the opportunity to sample loom controlled or handwoven shibori using both fiber reactive and vat dyes, including indigo on silk and cellulose fibers. Explore the interaction of color as you SIMULTANEOUSLY strip away (discharge) one color (fiber reactive dye) and replace it with another (vat dye) revealing a magical halo effect as your “little bundles of joy” are removed from the dye pot hitting the air. Learn to mix, apply, discharge, and layer dyes. Pavlos will demystify the process with lectures, demonstrations, and handouts so that you will be able to confidently continue to experiment at home. Participants will leave the workshop with samples and six wearable ARTscarves.
