Hands-on workshop exploring painterly and printerly techniques using monotype and chine-collé to create unique layered images. We will experiment with sheer and dense layers of inks, additive and subtractive processes, multiple passes through the etching press in combination with the collaging process, chine-collé.
Some printmaking knowledge is helpful but that should not deter the curious novice.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
SUE BRADFORD is a multi-disciplinary artist working in printmaking, mixed-media, textiles, encaustic, and paint in Napa, California.
She has a BArch in Architecture and Design from Cal Poly Pomona and has studied printmaking at Napa Valley College, Kala Art Institute and with master printer, Dan Welden. While having formal training in specific processes, Sue tries not to let that get in the way of putting disparate materials together to make the best statement.
Sue has shown her work throughout California and in Utah. She has been included in shows at the Napa Valley Museum, Sebastopol Center for the Arts and Berkeley Art Center. Her work is in private and corporate collections. She has taught printmaking workshops in her Napa studio, assisted on national and international painting tours and has been a mentor to teens in art making.
