This workshop is an introduction to solid borosilicate preparation and application. Demonstrations will include dichroic flat cane, dichroic marbles, sculpting, assembly and application to a finished class collaborative project. Ten hands on spots are available. A center fire torch is provided but if you are able to bring your own preferred torch and favorite tools that is recommended.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
SCOTT ROSINSKI first turned on the torch when he was 19 years old while studying to be a metal smith at the Maine College of Art. One day he found a bench mounted glass torch at the school, and that led to an independent study in lampworking. After college he had a residency at Royal River Art and Glass. Here he taught lampworking to beginners and honed his craft. Scott’s love for glass grew quickly and so did his desire to teach others.
In 2008 Scott’s son was born, and soon after they moved to Humboldt Country, California. Scott moved into what was formally the 101 North production glass studio. Over the next eight years Scott would collaborate with dozens of artists, and began developing some of his staple aesthetics. He currently works in a private studio to be close to a growing family, and regularly teaches workshops to share his knowledge and love for art.
