This workshop is perfect for artists who want to enrich their work by incorporating multiple media. It focuses on the amazing possibilities available in combining acrylics with soft pastels and oil pigment sticks. It is also about creating work that strikes a deeper meaning for you. We will be building layers, adding, subtracting, scraping, using both homemade and commercial stencils, using soft pastels and oil pigment sticks as both a drawing and painting mediums.

Acrylics, soft pastels, water soluble graphite sticks, water soluble oil pastels, oil pigment sticks will all contribute to this mixed media mash up!

I hope you will join me.

Colorist and visionary, American artist MIRA M. WHITE is an award-winning painter with an exhibition record both domestic and international. When viewing her multi-media artworks, one bears witness to a personal mythology of deeply felt images that stem from a lifelong preoccupation with and devotion to life as an ongoing journey of change and transformation.

Her professional responsibilities include a full teaching schedule of classes and workshops in multiple media. Widely respected in Northern California Bay Area art communities, she has in recent years broadened her teaching venues to include workshops in Florida, North Carolina, Nebraska and Washington.

The Pastel Journal in 2018 featured her work with the apt title Visual Narratives of Ethereal Beauty. Woven Tale Press just featured her graphic work in its June issue. She is included in a new hard cover book Art Journey: Abstract Painting. Encaustic Arts Magazine featured her work in its June 2015 issue. Other publications have honored her work as well: Gathering Clouds in 2014, Inquiring Mind in 2012 and 2014, and The Pastel Journal featured her pastel, mixed media work in its January/Februrary 2011 issue.
