CLASS DESCRIPTION
Collage is frequently understood to serve primarily as storytelling or as decorative design. But in this class particular emphasis will be placed on composition and the understanding and integration of different types of color – spectral hues, tints, and chromatic tonalities. This will be an intense, dynamic and informative workshop, including color theory mentioned above as well as practical, technical collage matters, such as pinning, gluing, lightfastness, etc.

A BASIC FEATURE OF THIS WORKSHOP IS THE PREPARATION THE STUDENT DOES AT HOME before the class begins. This consists primarily of conscientious collecting of paper collage materials. IT’S ADVISABLE TO START COLLECTING MATERIALS 2-3 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLASS BEGINS. Students who wait until the last week will be at a decided disadvantage. FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS IN THIS WORKSHOP, YOU CAN OBTAIN THE PROSPECTUS AND MATERIALS LIST directly from the instructor by emailing him.
