CLASS DESCRIPTION
This hands-on workshop will teach participants the skills necessary to create a small felted-wool vessel using an 8.5" round plastic resist, loose fibers, and pre-felt cut-outs. On day one, students will learn how to develop their own surface design motifs and sketch up their own botanical-inspired designs and layouts (no drawing skills necessary). They will also create a small, flat piece using only pre-felts, in order to understand how pre-felts behave during the felting process.

On day two, students will learn how to felt a 3D vessel using loose wool fibers, and also how and when to apply their pre-felt surface designs. In this two-day immersion class, participants will gain the confidence to create additional 3D felted pieces at home and understand how to work with pre-felts. A detailed wet felting instruction handout will also be provided.
