Dear Mendocino Art Center family,
We realize the impact of COVID-19 is being felt in every home and workplace across the globe, and we sincerely hope you and your loved ones have the support you need at this time of uncertainty. As part of our Mendocino Art Center community, you have already done so much for us by taking classes, attending events, and making donations, but we are asking you today to remember us once more.
Navigating the journey through this evolving environment is difficult enough for most people, but for the artists of our world, amateur or professional, for children who desire to heal through art or seniors who depend on us, the isolation imposed by this pandemic can be terrifying. They need our help during these coming months more than ever, and to continue helping, we need your support.
We understand your financial situation may be affected by the pandemic, but if you possibly can, your gift right now will matter so much to those who struggle with creative isolation and loss of income. A donation of $100 will allow us to offer online classes to isolated seniors and to youth; your donation will help us create an online store where the artists of our communities will be able to market and sell their pieces. Artists are the heart of our neighborhoods, and your support will allow us to help them through these fragile times.
And we are delighted to announce that every donation made before the end of May will be matched, up to $50,000, by an anonymous donor.
So many philanthropic resources are currently being dedicated to dealing with COVID-19, our financial situation at the Mendocino Art Center is reaching a breaking point. Our people need us now more than ever.
As the President and the Executive Director of the Mendocino Art Center, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done for us in the past, and for the donation you may give today.
With the warmest wishes and hope for our future,
President of the Board of Directors
Who needs art?
At the Mendocino Art Center, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and create. Our communities become kinder, and our dialogues more meaningful when art is involved.
For over 60 years the Mendocino Art Center has brought both emerging artists and experienced professionals to our village to create; some of the finest artists and craftspeople in the nation have taught here; and many of our students have gone on to become stellar contributors to their fields.
This year we have welcomed over 735 people to our classes, and many more have participated in our exhibitions, Second Saturday events, and other fairs. This is a 12% increase over the number of people who took classes last year, and although we are proud of this, we want to reach even more people next year.
Can you help us?
Growing our Scholarship Fund enables those who cannot afford it to be part of the community at the Mendocino Art Center.
A donation from you to our Scholarship Fund will allow people who might night otherwise have the chance to be inspired in an art workshop, to reach inside to the core of their creativity and communicate that to the world
Your donation today will mean a great deal
to someone's creative life, and to their well-being.

Here's your opportunity to ensure a thriving future for the Mendocino Art Center and the
community it serves. You can build a much-needed expansion, rebuild outdated facilities, and launch an endowment that will sustain the 55 year-old Art Center for the next 55 years and beyond.
Like you, we're part of this community. With the help of artists and good neighbors such as you, we will construct a multi-purpose green wing with upgraded apartments; a catering kitchen; and the Stussy Studio, a fine arts studio large enough for classes and community use.
Donate to the Building Our Future Campaign
By making a donation to the Mendocino Art Center you will have the satisfaction of knowing you helped provide the opportunities of art education you have had, for your children and the generations to come. At the same time you receive the tax advantage of donating to a non-profit 501 (C)3 educational organization.
All donations of any amount are helpful and appreciated.
