Update on COVID-19 from the Mendocino Art Center
With increasing concerns surrounding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and California Governor Gavin Newsom's recommendation to postpone public gatherings, and instructing all Californians 65 and older and those with chronic health conditions to isolate themselves at home, the Mendocino Art Center has decided to exercise caution by postponing all classes, open studios, and gallery exhibitions, and closing our Gallery Store, through April 30. The Mendocino Art Center buildings will remain closed. Our employees will continue to work remotely from the safety of their homes.
The health and safety of you, our valued patrons and students, and our artists and employees is of utmost importance.
Those of you who have enrolled in a class scheduled between now and the end of the April will be contacted soon.
As a non-profit arts organization, the Mendocino Art Center relies heavily on the support of our students and patrons. The Mendocino Art Center, as well as other non-profit organizations in our community and beyond, could experience significant losses due to the impact of COVID-19.
Your donation to support us during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support and patience as we navigate this ever-changing challenge. We wish you good health and look forward to welcoming you back to the Mendocino Art Center.
Who needs art?
At the Mendocino Art Center, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and create. Our communities become kinder, and our dialogues more meaningful when art is involved.
For over 60 years the Mendocino Art Center has brought both emerging artists and experienced professionals to our village to create; some of the finest artists and craftspeople in the nation have taught here; and many of our students have gone on to become stellar contributors to their fields.
This year we have welcomed over 735 people to our classes, and many more have participated in our exhibitions, Second Saturday events, and other fairs. This is a 12% increase over the number of people who took classes last year, and although we are proud of this, we want to reach even more people next year.
Can you help us?
Growing our Scholarship Fund enables those who cannot afford it to be part of the community at the Mendocino Art Center.
A donation from you to our Scholarship Fund will allow people who might night otherwise have the chance to be inspired in an art workshop, to reach inside to the core of their creativity and communicate that to the world
Your donation today will mean a great deal
to someone's creative life, and to their well-being.

Here's your opportunity to ensure a thriving future for the Mendocino Art Center and the
community it serves. You can build a much-needed expansion, rebuild outdated facilities, and launch an endowment that will sustain the 55 year-old Art Center for the next 55 years and beyond.
Like you, we're part of this community. With the help of artists and good neighbors such as you, we will construct a multi-purpose green wing with upgraded apartments; a catering kitchen; and the Stussy Studio, a fine arts studio large enough for classes and community use.
