CLASS DESCRIPTION
Students will be exposed to various building and throwing techniques. Firing of student work will consist of Raku, low fire and high fire methods. Students will be working closely with local artists and Mendocino Art Center Artists in Residence.

 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
ALISSA MITTL is a recent graduate of Florida State University, where she received her BA in Studio Art and Art History. She focuses primarily on ceramic sculpture but often includes flame-worked glass details in her pieces. A 2016-17 resident ceramic artist at the Mendocino Art Center, Alissa’s work centers on the surreal, inexplicable, and occasionally grotesque.
