Cultivating Abundance

I give my brilliance and my miraculous time to growing health and love and wonder... my rule of thumb is to give attention to what I love, so that what I love can grow.

How Your Support Nourishes the Creative Ecosystem

This year, our Cultivating Abundance campaign is focusing on four vital areas to ensure our creative community thrives:

Creativity is an inexhaustible fountain at the Mendocino Art Center, not a limited supply. By pouring into our creative potential, we foster a wealth of inspiration that benefits our whole community. We welcome you to join us now in sowing the groundwork for a flourishing new chapter of development.

  • Nurturing the Creators (Scholarships): We are expanding our scholarship fund to ensure financial barriers never prevent a talented artist from accessing our programs.

  • Fertilizing the Soil (Capital Improvements): We are upgrading our studios and campus grounds, creating a modern, inspiring, and accessible environment where creativity can bloom.

  • Sustaining the Caretakers (Fair Wages): True abundance means taking care of the people who make the magic happen. We are raising funds to provide higher, thriving wages for our dedicated staff and teaching artists.

  • Cross-Pollinating the Community (The Arts): Your support keeps our core arts programming vibrant, accessible, and deeply impactful for everyone.

Will you join us as a Cultivator today?

  • $100 (Seed Sower): Funds vital art supplies for our core public programming.

  • $250 (Studio Nurturer): Contributes directly to our campus and studio improvement fund.

  • $500 (Artist Advocate) Provides a scholarship for an artist.

  • $1,000+ (Abundance Visionary): Helps secure thriving wages for our essential staff and faculty.

Cultivating Abundance

At the Mendocino Art Center, creativity is an act of abundance—a blossoming of imagination, resources, and care. Our Residency Programs serve as the heart of this philosophy, acting as a greenhouse for artists by providing the warmth, shelter, and time necessary to grow within a community that tends the soil together.

Even as arts funding faces cuts nationwide and institutions struggle to remain open, we are choosing to dream bigger. This year, our focus on abundance allows us to expand our vision and provide even deeper support for the creative spirit.

Expanding Our Creative Ecosystem

Building on our history of hosting visual artists and writers, the Mendocino Art Center is now expanding into new forms of expression. In July, we will launch our first-ever moving artist residency in collaboration with the Mendocino Dance Project. This month-long summer program will be free for participating artists, offering a unique opportunity for creative exchange between movement artists and our community.

Sustaining Vital Work

Your contributions make this work possible. Donors provide the foundation for our exhibitions, educational offerings, and community events that foster critical dialogue. By supporting these programs, you are ensuring that the Mendocino Art Center remains a vibrant hub for ideas and a space where the creative community can truly thrive.

Expanding Our Existing Work

In the past few years, the Mendocino Art Center has organized numerous educational offerings, exhibitions, and community-rooted events. Donors make this work possible. Your support shows that a vibrant exchange of ideas, and a space for conversations, is vital.

Our educational offerings, exhibitions, and community-rooted events foster critical dialogue and nurture the creative spirits of our communities.

The summer movement residency offers another opportunity for creative exchange between artists and community members.

Join the circle. Help us grow what grows all of us.
