Workshop Description:
Immerse in a hands-on wet cyanotype workshop that fuses plant material, light, sun and water for experimentation in color and form. Choose organic materials, mix chemistry, coat and dry paper, arrange designs, apply powered pigments, and play with layered textures to yield painterly, vibrant, unique prints.

About the Instructor:
Colette Copeland is an interdisciplinary visual artist based in Granbury, Texas. Inspired by Dada and Fluxus, her artistic practice combines personal narratives, history, and contemporary culture using a variety of media including video, photography, sound, performance, printmaking and sculptural installation. Her performance videos utilize experimental narrative strategies to map the complexities of human and non-human relationships.

Required Materials:
Botanical specimens (we can collectively and ethically forage if there are wildflowers and plants nearby)
3 pairs disposable medical gloves (the pigments will stain your hands), apron to protect clothing
I am assuming since the center has offered cyanotype workshops in the past, that the center has some trays for washing prints and glass/foam core? Each person will need 8x10 inch glass with backing (foam core or mason board, wood, etc)

Optional Materials: N/A
