About the Instructor:
Originally from San Francisco, Bella Marinos is a ceramic artist and curator currently based in Southern California. Their work incorporates cultural imagery and ritualistic elements inspired by their Mexican heritage in an ongoing exploration of generational trauma, death, grief, gender identity conflicts, religion, and colonialism. Fascinated by connection, obsession, and secret-keeping, Marinos’ curatorial practice embraces the heartfelt: they focus on craft, process, and careful collection, with particular attention to ephemeral objects and oral histories that have been historically disregarded.

Marinos’s work has been exhibited in museums and galleries including Craft Contemporary, the Museum at the California Center for the Arts, La Mama Galleria, Guggenheim Gallery, Brea Gallery, Melrose Botanical Garden, and the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art.
They received their BA in Psychology, Philosophy, and Art from Chapman University in 2023., and have served in various administrative and registration roles for Los Angeles-based galleries and artists, including Tanya Bonakdar Gallery and Craig Krull Gallery. They’re currently a Curatorial Associate at Cal State Fullerton’s Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana.
