Workshop Description:
This workshop will be focused on both short and long pose charcoal drawings from life models. Different techniques mentioned in “Henry Yan’s Figure Drawing-Techniques and Tips” will be demonstrated and practiced.
This workshop is for all levels.
About the Instructor: Henry Yan taught figure drawing and figure painting in the Fine Art and Illustration departments at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for nearly three decades.
His figure drawing book, published in 2006, has been widely used by artists and students around the world as a valuable learning resource.
He continues to teach figure drawing and painting through workshops internationally, sharing his knowledge and experience with artists across different levels.
Required Materials:
Charcoal pencil: medium and soft, or 2B, 4B, 6B
Vine or Willow charcoal: soft, medium size
Kneaded eraser
Knife for sharpening pencils
Sand paper
Newsprint papers, smooth x 1 pad or 12 sheets
Drawing papers, medium surface x 6 sheets
