Workshop Description:
The group will be invited to engage intentionally with the craft and materials. We will start with recalling our relationship with textiles as we ground ourselves in the brilliance of natural fibers & yarn. Participants will work with the materials such as colored and carded wool to practice weaving, learning basic components of a loom, weaving terminology, and effects of beating. Everyone takes home a one-of-a-kind woven creation that reflects both ecological entanglement and community supported learning.

The cost of wool and other materials is included in the price of the class! 

About the Instructor:  
Flore is a black neuroqueering Haitian artist devoted to craft, plants, and ecological care. They create with natural fibers such as organic cotton and wool along with botanical colors. They work with those materials in hand weaving, dyeing, creating artist materials such as inks, pigments . Their work uplifts the Haitian cultural technology of lakou by being devotional and centers their local ecological context including the humans.
