Workshop Description:
In this workshop, you will learn the traditional technique of lost-wax casting, an essential method in both artistic and contemporary jewelry. Through hands-on practice, you will explore how to design and shape wax into unique models ready to be transformed into metal pieces.
You will learn:
• How to use basic tools for wax modeling.
• Carving, polishing, and texturing techniques.
• How to prepare your models for the casting process.
• Creative principles to design original wax jewelry.
Casting service available for additional price. Final casting price will vary according to wax weight and desired final material.

This workshop is open to both beginners and advanced metalsmiths alike who wish to explore new design possibilities. You will learn to design and create your own pieces in wax, while developing practical skills that can be applied to jewelry making.
About the Instructor:
Sofia Gz is a multidisciplinary artist who explores multidimensionality through jewelry. Her pieces, crafted primarily with silver and stones, capture the fluidity of elements and organic forms. Her inspiration comes from dreams, nature, and the sky.
Sofia trained with master jeweler Roberto Fenzl in San Leo, Italy in 2016, and was an apprentice to master jeweler Álvaro H. Alannis in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas in 2019.
