Workshop Description:
In this workshop, we’ll draw inspiration from the beauty of seascapes, bringing them to life through oil on canvas. We’ll incorporate textured elements, like sand and unique utensils, to add contrast and depth, making each piece more dynamic. To begin, we’ll take a walk along the shoreline, where you can sketch impressions of the scene. These initial sketches will guide your work when we move to the studio, where you'll translate your observations onto the canvas.
About the Instructor:
Jutta Gietl is a contemporary Oil Painter, who lives in Reno, NV. Born and raised in Germany, she holds a master's degree in Material Sciences and Engineering and follows her passion as an artist. Using abstract expressionism, she applies a fusion of contrasting elements, light versus dark, smoothness versus texture to create balance between harmony and chaos. She is a member of the Sierra Arts Foundation, The Latimer Art Club and the Downtown Modernists in Reno and she shows her work annually in multiple venues such the Reno Tahoe International Art Show and Exhibitions.

Required Materials:
Sketchbook and pencils, small size canvases, brushes, colors to your liking, black, blues, yellow, white, paint palette, paint thinner and wipes.
