Workshop Description:
This class is for students with at least one ceramics class and any level of Raku. We will devote our time to firing in the Raku style. We’ll begin by discussing the available surface options of glaze or engobe, and post fire reduction, hair/feather, and alcohol techniques. Bring sculptural or functional bisqued ware to Raku in this workshop, preferably with grog.
18 years of age and older in this workshop due to safety.
About the Instructor:
Coreen Abbott has been working with clay professionally since 1976. She holds a MFA in Ceramic Sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute and BFA from the University of Colorado. She has been an adjunct lecturer at UC Berkeley, CA; Nanjing University of the Arts, China; Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute, China; as well as teaching and living in Faenza, Italy.

Please bring bisqueware and wear cotton clothing with close toed shoes.
